One of the most beautiful places to visit in Western Canada. The scenery on Highway 93 is breathtaking. The only downfall is that there is no phone service and gasoline stations for 105 km so be prep… Full review by Kenneth P

There’s a few sights to see along the way. There may be some hiking trails but since we did not do any I can’t comment on that. We did stop at Vermillion Crossing, Numa Falls and Marble Canyon. It’s … Full review by Christina B

It depends what you are planning on doing in the parks. There shouldn't be any restrictions if you're hiking or planning on staying overnight in the park. If you are looking for specific information about the park, here are the hours of operation: Kootenay National Park Visitor Centre, located in the Village of Radium Hot Springs, is open from 9am to 7pm (June 14th to September 5th). Tourism Radium also offers information services daily from 9am to 5pm.

From Castle Junction, which is where you turn off the Trans Canada Highway, without stops, it's about 1 hour, 20 minutes to Radium. Due to the current wildfire situation, they frequently close this stretch of highway, so if you're driving through in the next few weeks, be sure to have a back-up plan (with enough time, as alternate routes are very long). The scenery is great in Kootenay National Park, but this road can be a bit frenetic, as many A-type Calgarians have vacation properties in the Columbia Valley, or are just in a hurry to get there to start a vacation, and they can speed like crazy. We'd avoid, for example, driving this route Friday night, Saturday morning, or Sunday afternoon... Other than that, it's really great... The only "real" washrooms are at Kootenay Information Centre (and there's a fabulous restaurant there too, but call ahead for open hours, it's not open a lot), but lots of pit toilets at the trailheads and picnic area.
It.depends upon how many stops you make. I took three hours but stopped many times to photograph the varied landscape. If you don't stop 1:45 hours end to end.
