Nearly a week after floodwaters swept away more than a hundred lives, Texas officials are facing heated questions over how much was – or was not – done in the early morning hours of Friday as a wall of water raced down the Guadalupe River.

Kerr County officials said Wednesday that their priority is to continue to search for missing people and get families closure as recovery efforts continue across Hill Country following the deadly floods.

The Texas floods have impacted country singer Pat Green personally as his brother's family remains missing in Kerrville and more than 100 people have died.

Virginia Wynne Naylor, 8, was at Camp Mystic, a girls' summer camp with cabins along the river in a rural part of Kerr County, when the floods hit on July 4. Her family confirmed her death in a statement, referring to her as Wynne.
