Donkey Kong Bananza has confirmed the identity of the big ape's new voice actor after Mario Kart World didn't feature Takashi Nagasako in the credits.

The credits for Donkey Kong Bananza have shined a light on the game's voice cast, including one actor who is reprising his role from the Japanese dub of Super Mario Bros. Move. Please be aware of cast spoilers for Donkey Kong Bananza below.

According to IGN, Takeda has replaced Takashi Nagasako, who voiced Donkey Kong for over two decades. Meanwhile, there's a new voice for Pauline as well in Donkey Kong Bananza, with Jenny Kidd taking over the English role from Kate Higgins, who had voiced her in Super Mario Odyssey.

A Donkey Kong film would certainly make sense. The gorilla is a prominent character in The Super Mario Bros. Movie, voiced by Seth Rogan, and will likely feature in the sequel—expected to be called Super Mario World. DK seems to be getting a (re)glow-up, as the Mario sequel film is set to release in April 2026.
