The victims include a man estimated to be between 40 and 50 years old, a 7-year-old boy, and a 4-year-old girl. All three were reportedly swept downstream during the flooding event. All three victims were reported missing at the Riverside RV park.

Three people, including two children, died after flash flooding swept through the village of Ruidoso, authorities said. The fatalities occurred as floodwaters surged through the area, driven by heavy monsoonal rains falling on burn scar terrain from last year’s South Fork and Salt fires.

The National Weather Service is advising Ruidoso residents to get to higher ground in the wake of “life-threatening” flood waters Tuesday.
