The pair of top Mariners prospects had decent, if not unspectacular, showings in the annual game featuring top prospects.
• There were a couple of players who did underwhelm in the game. Marlins lefty Thomas White returned to the Futures Game, and for the second year in a row, he had trouble throwing strikes. He was 95-98 with a slider at 80-84, premium stuff, but half his pitches were called balls and they were bad misses at that.
Cincinnati Reds prospect Sal Stewart played in the prestigious Futures Game Saturday and got the call after the game that he's being promoted to AAA.
Tait entered the game, which was played in Atlanta, in the fourth inning of the National League’s 4-2 win. Aldan native and Detroit Tigers prospect Kevin McGonigle also competed in the game.
