The Flyers forward was given a two-minute minor for cross-checking on the play. During the first period of the matchup, Tsyplakov injured Flyers forward Ryan Poehling with a high hit. The Islanders forward did not receive a penalty on the play.

On Friday, the NHL’s Department of Player Safety announced it has suspended New York Islanders forward Max Tsyplakov for three games for his illegal check to the head of Flyers forward Ryan Poehling on Thursday night. While he wasn't initially penalized, the NHL has now issued a multi-game suspension for Islanders forward Maxim Tsyplakov.
