The department store Macy's Inc. announced on Thursday that it would close 66 underperforming stores in 2025. Newsweek has contacted the Macy's press office for comment via email outside standard working hours.

Macy's released the locations of 66 stores slated to be closed. Seven are located in Florida. They are: Boca Raton Furniture, at 9339 Glades Road in Boca Raton, was included in an earlier closure announcement by Macy's. The company said clearance sales at Macy's stores will begin in January and will run for approximately 8 to12 weeks.

Nine Macy’s locations are closing in California. In the Bay Area, the Corte Madera store, the Newark store and San Mateo’s furniture gallery are all scheduled to close. It should be noted that the Downtown Plaza Macy’s that is listed as closing is the one in Sacramento’s Downtown Commons and not Santa Rosa Plaza’s Macy’s.
