Presumptive Big Ten favorite Ohio State returns to the field this weekend in another early non-conference matchup against Marshall in college football’s Week 4

After a week off, the Ohio State Buckeyes continue their less than imposing non-conference schedule with a date at home against the Thundering Herd of Marshall.

Ohio State football is a heavy favorite against the Marshall Thundering Herd as the Buckeyes are favored in most sportsbooks by 40-points. That number has stayed at that point throughout the week, but the point total has made a slight adjustment.

The 2025 meeting between the teams will be the 22nd all-time meeting between the programs and the first since the start of the 2020 season when they met in the opener, a game Marshall won 59-0.

Ohio State and Marshall have met twice on the gridiron. The Thundering Herd came into the Horseshoe 20 years ago and gave the Buckeyes quite a scare, but the leg of Mike Nugent saved the day. Marshall also visited Columbus in 2010 and Ohio State won 45-7, but that game was part of the vacated season after the ‘tattoogate’ scandal.
