Jewish, Ann Arbor police said in a release. The intersection is near the University of Michigan campus. When the teen said yes, the group then assaulted him before fleeing the area, police said. The teen suffered minor injuries and was not taken to the hospital.

A University of Michigan student was assaulted by a group of unknown males over the weekend after confirming to them that he was Jewish.

The alleged incident is the latest report of a Jewish student being attacked on a college campus this semester, nearly a year after student activism exploded and reports of antisemitism spiked following the outbreak of the Israel-Hamas war.
