Rebecca Kutler, a Philadelphia native serving as the network’s senior vice president of content strategy, will take over for Rashida Jones as MSNBC’s interim network president.

That creativity manifested itself at MSNBC, as Jones expanded “Morning Joe” by an hour and created a sort of “pop-up” program known internally as “The Avengers” that has Maddow lead a dais of MSNBC opinion hosts during moments of critical national news import.

Rashida Jones is stepping down as president of MSNBC, marking a significant transition just days before President-elect Donald Trump returns to the White House. USA Today reports that she will remain in an advisory role until March.
