The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department is investigating a deputy-involved shooting Friday morning in East Los Angeles. The sheriff's department did not immediately provide information regarding injuries. The shooting took place around 4:20 a.m. near the 1500 block of Helen Drive.

An investigation continues after deputies responded to a man reportedly firing a gun in East LA. The suspect was hit by deputy gunfire and died at the scene.
