Honda is returning the "RSX" nameplate to the market just a few months after filing trademark applications for the designation

Acura is bringing back the RSX name, but not as a performance-oriented sport compact coupe. Instead, it's an all-electric crossover based on the Acura Performance EV Concept shown at Monterey last year.

Acura today announced that the premium performance brand’s next-generation EV will carry the “RSX” nameplate. Based on the Acura Performance EV Concept, the all-new Acura RSX will be the first model engineered on the new Honda-developed EV platform and mark the launch of the new proprietary ASIMO OS operating system introduced by Honda at CES 2025.

See that camouflaged coupe SUV thing up there? That’ll soon be known as the Acura RSX. The RSX was the US-spec name given to the fourth-gen DC5 Honda Integra, meaning it got a 2.0-litre i-VTEC four-cylinder engine with various power outputs throughout its life.

The first in-house EV for Acura in the U.S. adopts the RSX name. We knew Acura was working on its first homespun electric vehicle for the North American market, based on the Acura Performance EV Concept.

Remember when Acura announced plans to bring back the beloved Integra name, only to later reveal that said Integra would only be sold as a five-door hatchback? Well, it's happened again. Acura has announced that the RSX badge — the one used instead of Integra on the final generation of three-door Acura sport compact coupes sold in the U.

Acura RSX will be an evolution of the Performance EV concept, built on the same dedicated platform that will underpin the Honda 0-series.
