Snowflakes fell across the tri-state on Sunday afternoon, but the heaviest snow is ahead and temperatures fall below freezing. The bulk of the snow is expected to fall between 5 and 9 p.m. in the immediate New York City area.

Winter storm warnings have been issued for New York, New Jersey and Connecticut with the entire region bracing for snow.

The post-winter storm dig out has started in New York City and across the Tri-State after the region was blanketed with several inches of snow on Sunday. Now, the area is bracing for the coldest temperatures in two years over the next few days.
