Valentine’s Day, July 4th and Halloween all land on a Friday in 2025, making for at least a few fun holiday weekends to look forward to. Here’s a look at major and federal holiday is in 2025 and what day of the week they land on. Martin Luther King Jr. Day is the next federal holiday celebrated in the U.S., and it will fall on Monday, Jan. 20.

New Year's Day, which falls on Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2025, is a federally observed holiday, according to the U.S. Office of Personnel Management. That means that normal government agencies and offices will be closed in observance of the holiday, as well as many other non-governmental companies.

For the first time in 28 years, Inauguration Day and Martin Luther King Day observances fall on the same day. This is the second time the dates have aligned. Inauguration Day is constitutionally mandated to occur on January 20.
