German defence start-up Helsing has raised 600 million euros ($693.30 million) in its latest investment round, lead by Spotify founder Daniel Ek, the firm said on Tuesday.
Deerhoof said they are leaving Spotify after its CEO invested nearly $700 million in Helsing, which makes military drones and AI defense software.
In addition to being the CEO of Spotify, Daniel Ek is also the chairman of Helsing, a German defense technology company that develops AI software designed to enhance military weapons and equipment.
Despite a cautious VC climate and ongoing geopolitical jitters, European startups are still attracting serious cash.
According to the company’s math, the AI prep work produced the equivalent of 50 years of human pilot experience.
