According to TSN's Bob McKenzie, the Leafs have agreed to terms with former Montreal Canadiens Michael Pezzetta on a new contract.

The Maple Leafs have signed free agent forward Michael Pezzetta to a two-year contract with an AAV of $775,000, league sources told The Athletic’s Chris Johnston. The depth forward was a sixth-round pick of the Montreal Canadiens in 2016 and has spent most of the past four seasons in Montreal.

The Montreal Canadiens submitted a qualifying offer to Cayden Primeau on June 30, but it wasn’t because he was still part of the team’s plans; it was simply not to lose an asset for nothing. Which was far from being a surprising development.
