A Singapore passport has been ranked as the world’s most powerful in 2025, while the U.S. passport lost some of its travel power, according to data from migration advisory firm Henley & Partners.

Malaysia's passport has dropped one place from the previous ranking in November to 12nd in the early 2025 edition released by British global citizenship and residence advisory firm Henley & Partners.

The once-mighty US and UK passports have taken a notable hit in the 2025 Henley Passport Index rankings. The US, now placed at the 9th position with visa-free access to 186 destinations, marks its lowest ranking in decades.

A new ranking has shown that the Nigerian passport is the least desirable globally, occupying the bottom 18 position as Japan and Singapore jostle for number one.
