Florida A&M lost to Prairie View 31-12, Bethune-Cookman fell 25-23 to Southern in five overtimes and previously winless Marist beat Stetson 40-31.

The jump resulted from surprising outcomes elsewhere. Previously No. 4 Miami suffered its first loss of the season at Georgia Tech, while No. 2 Georgia took a lopsided loss at Ole Miss for its second defeat of the campaign.

Following the loss, the FPI dropped Florida three spots from No. 25 to No. 28, with the team’s overall rating dropping from 10.3 points in last week’s results to 9.3 this week. That wedges the Gators between the No. 27 BYU Cougars and No. 29 Kansas Jayhawks.
