Gauthier carried the puck from his own blue line into the offensive zone, cut to the left circle and scored on a wrist shot for his first two-goal game in the NHL.

The Carolina Hurricanes will face the Anaheim Ducks (17-20-5) tonight for the first time this season. Carolina is coming off back-to-back wins over the Toronto Maple Leafs and Vancouver Canucks and will look to win three games in a row for the first time since November.
