The Oklahoma Sooners came in at No. 3 in the SEC preseason coaches poll ahead of the start of the 2025 college softball season. Oklahoma is losing a lot of talent from a team that secured its fourth straight national title in 2024.

One of the Sooner standouts was defensive back Billy Bowman Jr., who is scheduled to play in Saturday's Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama. Bowman Jr. got a shoutout from the Oklahoma Sooners' official X account on Wednesday as his stellar play began turning heads during practice.

To preview Saturday’s contest, I spoke with the Commodores' Hoops Voice, Kevin Ingram. Craig: It seems from a far that this has been a well balanced team from an offensive production standpoint. Am I correct in that assessment?

The Sooners' schedule is tough. It will be one of the more difficult slates in 2025. But there's no guarantee that the teams on their schedule will be as good as they were in 2024. Oklahoma, on the other hand, should be significantly improved as their offense gets much better under Arbuckle and Mateer.
