A strong first two periods helped the Blue Jackets survive a third-period push from the Sharks before van Riemsdyk found the empty net.

Adam Fantilli(8), and Mathieu Olivier(10), provided the offense for the high-powered Blue Jackets, and Elvis Merzļikins stopped 29 of 33 Blues shots in the Columbus win. This game was pretty ho-hum until the third period.

The Flyers extended their point streak to three games but shootout goals by Columbus' Adam Fantilli and Kirill Marchenko were the difference.
