Nintendo First Video of Luigi in Super Mario 64 Unveiled The video appears to be from an old VHS from 1995, and reveals what was shown at Space World that year, where the game was first shown.

Luigi was originally supposed to be in Super Mario 64. That much is known, and we did get him in the DS remake of the game.

This, however, seems to be the only footage we have of an early Super Mario 64 build, and if real – or not just a trick of the eye – it just may be the only known footage of Luigi in the game.

This is obviously of note as Luigi was never part of the final version of N64's Super Mario 64. He did appear in the DS version alongside Mario, Yoshi, and Wario, however.

Super Mario 64 DS would eventually make all those schoolyard rumors of a playable Luigi come true, but it looks like there was some distant truth to them even back in the '90s.
