Rather than Google Maps, the Blueprint Map uses Open Street Map – a Wikipedia-type website for cartography - and the City of Philadelphia's Open Data resources.

Even in 1839, when this map was drawn from General Land Office of the Republic surveys, San Antonio (lower left) is shown as the crossroads of Central Texas, with several main roads leading from it.

The map also identifies more inland or non-coastal cities that could be affected, such as Beaumont, and parts of Orange County, as well as cities such as Lake Jackson and Port Arthur.
