There is an apparently new iOS 18 security feature that reboots iPhones that haven’t been unlocked in a few days, frustrating police by making it harder to break into suspects’ iPhones, according to 404 Media.

You don't have to press any physical buttons to restart your iPhone if you're running iOS 18. The redesigned control center features all the classic controls you're used to, like brightness, volume, orientation, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, but there are several new controls, including one to restart your iPhone.

This new feature will supposedly calculate how long it'll take your phone to fully recharge, a feature iPhone users were previously only able to access via the Charging Time shortcut or a third-party app. This update will also send users a notification if they're using a slow charger.

The iOS 18.1 update introduces Apple Intelligence, featuring system-wide writing tools, an upgraded Siri that understands complex commands, and a redesigned Photos app. Users can now clean up images and enjoy enhanced organization of memories with new viewing options.
