NEW YORK (AP) — Ford is recalling more than 850,000 of its cars across the U.S. because the low-pressure fuel pump inside the vehicles may fail — and potentially cause an engine stall while driving, increasing crash risks.

A faulty low-pressure fuel pump could cause engines to stall while driving, raising crash risks for hundreds of thousands of Ford units.

Ford is recalling 850,318 cars because of a low-pressure fuel pump failure problem that can cause the engine to stall while driving, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration wrote in a recall notice.
