Inflation, the cost of living and economic stability concerns propelled Singapore's conservative People's Action Party to a landslide election win on Saturday.

The party's 14th successive election victory was never in question. Instead, the focus was on the mandate voters would give Lawrence Wong in his first electoral test since assuming the top job a year ago.

Singaporeans have returned the PAP to power with 65.57 per cent of the popular vote, a commanding swing from its 61.24 per cent share in the last general election.
