South Korean authorities have granted a request to extend a warrant to detain the country’s suspended President Yoon Suk Yeol for questioning over his surprise declaration of martial law last month.

Protests surrounding impeached President Yoon Suk Yeol continued into Wednesday morning, following the re-issuance of an arrest warrant against him, giving law enforcement authorities another opportunity to apprehend him.

A South Korean court has reissued an arrest warrant for President Yoon Suk Yeol. He faces impeachment over an alleged coup attempt involving the declaration of martial law in the country, reports Reuters.
