Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he is prepared to meet Vladimir Putin this week, shortly after US President Donald Trump urged him to “immediately” accept the Russian leader’s offer to hold peace talks in Turkey.

MOSCOW – Russian President Vladimir Putin on Sunday proposed direct talks with Ukraine on May 15 in Istanbul that he said should be aimed at achieving a durable peace and eliminating the root causes of the war. Zelenskyy said he would meet Putin face to face.

"I will be waiting for Putin in Türkiye on Thursday. Personally," the Ukrainian leader says after Trump urged him to "have the meeting, now!"
