SHELBY COUNTY, Ala. (WBMA) — A man and his father were found dead inside a Shelby County home after an hourslong standoff Tuesday. An alert was sent out to more than 400 residents in the Narrows neighborhood asking them to shelter in place during the ordeal, which began around 8:30 a.m.

Two men were found dead inside a home following a standoff where shots were fired in The Narrows area of Shelby County Tuesday morning. The incident began at about 8 a.m. when deputies were serving what Shelby County Sheriff John Samaniego described as a "mental pickup order" on a man in his early 70s at a home in the 200 block of Narrows Drive.
