Liberty star Sabrina Ionescu says she isn't 100% after undergoing surgery last month to repair a torn UCL in her right thumb but is cleared to participate in Unrivaled.
Sabrina Ionescu returned to basketball activities this week after having offseason surgery on her thumb. The Liberty star said Thursday her recovery has been going “really well” since her Dec. 6 operation to repair a ligament in her right thumb that she injured during the WNBA Finals.
Unrivaled’s inaugural season is scheduled to begin Friday in Miami. Ionescu's participation in the league adds to her remarkable 2024, which included winning a gold medal at the Olympics and securing the WNBA championship with the Liberty.
Insiders suggest a star-studded twist may be on the horizon. NBA insider Shams Charania reported plans to pair Curry and his longtime Splash Brother, Klay Thompson, against Ionescu and college basketball phenom Caitlin Clark .
