A man has been arrested on suspicion of impersonating a police car after police in Marin County said he was found driving a car modified to resemble a California Highway Patrol vehicle.

The California Highway Patrol plans to set up a traffic checkpoint on Friday, Jan. 17, to screen for intoxicated and unlicensed drivers. The checkpoint will start at about 7 p.m. and last about six hours. The CHP said it would be in an unincorporated part of the county.

A driver fleeing from Rohnert Park officers on Monday went the wrong direction on northbound Highway 101 and crashed into a patrol car, San Rafael police said.

San Rafael police shared video of officers chasing a suspect on the freeway throughout Marin County. The video, shot by Sonoma Sheriff's helicopter, shows the driver weaving through lanes while driving the wrong way on Highway 101 and I-580 in San Rafael.

In the four-minute helicopter video shared by police, the suspect is seen weaving through lanes and avoiding cars while driving the wrong way on the freeway.
