Israeli-born IndyCar driver Robert Shwartzman won the pole for the Indianapolis 500 on Sunday, then used his platform to ask for peace in both the Middle East and Eastern Europe.
Qualifying for the 2025 Indianapolis 500 got underway on Saturday at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Alex Palou posted the fastest time in qualifying with a speed of 233.043 mph, narrowly edging out Scott McLaughlin (233.013 mph) and Josef Newgarden (233.004 mph).
Last year’s qualifying weekend for the Indianapolis 500 was the first of a two-part coronation for Team Chevy as its drivers captured the top eight spots in time trials and went on to score a 1-2 finish in the race.
When a thrilling Full-Field Qualifying session came to a close Saturday at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, all four Arrow McLaren drivers had qualified for the Indianapolis 500. And two of those drivers still have a shot at pole position.
