Snow will initially arrive in western Iowa around 4-5 a.m. Thursday. The snow showers will progress into central Iowa as we head closer to 7-9 a.m. Some of the showers will be intense bursts of snow. With temperatures below freezing, it will be falling as all snow and sticking, creating slick conditions on the roadways.

Forecasters have increasing confidence that Alabama will have to deal with some winter precipitation on Friday. The big questions remain about who gets snow, who gets ice and who gets rain.
