Because of erroneous information provided by Michelin, an earlier version of this story identified the incorrect amount of total awarded restaurants and Bib Gourmand restaurants in Texas. Restaurants across Texas celebrated Monday night as Michelin crowned its inaugural batch of winners in the Lone Star State.

With 15 newly minted Michelin Stars, Texas—renowned for its stellar barbecuse, Tex-Mex and tacos–has now officially been recognized as an international culinary hub.

The world-renowned Michelin Guide sent inspectors to Texas restaurants last spring for the first time, promoting the rollout with marketing help from Travel Texas and Visit Fort Worth.
