Authorities have identified the man struck and killed by an NJ Transit train Tuesday evening in Middletown as a 77-year-old Monmouth County resident. Dilip M. Shah, of Ocean, was hit at 5:54 p.m. near the Navesink River bridge by a North Jersey Coast Line train en route to Bay Head from New York Penn Station,

The victim was struck and killed by a Bay Head-bound train just before the Navesink River Bridge in Red Bank Tuesday.

A man was struck by a New Jersey Transit train and killed on New Year's Eve in Middletown, officials said. The man was hit by North Jersey Coast Line train No. 3361 on Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2024, a NJ Transit spokesperson said.

The North Jersey Coast Line train was on its way from Penn Station New York to Bay Head in Ocean County, officials said.
