[Acne] Why do all CeraVe products make me break out?

Researching on acne treatment I started following Dr V, a well known YT creator who recommends using Cerave to help with acne and hyper pigmentation. I landed on a routine of 1) CeraVe Renewing SA Cleanser -> 2) CeraVe Alcohol Free Hydrating Face Toner W/ Hyaluronic Acid/Niacinamide/Ceramides -> 3) , Cerave Daily Moisturizing Lotion, and 4) CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion. Fine the first time I did it, then redness/burning/minor swelling the second time. Didn't use the next day then resumed.

Jul 13, 2021 · PM - Cerave basic cleanser, Cerave retinol & drunk elephant F-balm electrolyte moisturizer (this was gifted to me so I’m using it but there’s nothing special about it, any moisturizer will do). Every 2 or 3 days, I will use Dr. Dennis Gross’ extra strength peel pads in place of the retinol. I know they’re pricey but soooo worth it imo.

Apr 14, 2020 · One ingredient my acne has responded well to since I was 16 is benzoyl peroxide. As I've gotten older, BP definitely made my skin much more flakey and sensitive (but clear! Ha.) I always stop using BP because of the sensitivity issue. That being said, I saw Cerave came out with a 4% BP wash! And no SLS (which breaks me out horribly.)

Apr 23, 2023 · About a week ago, I decided to mix it up a bit. I started using CeraVe foaming facial cleaner (normal to oily skin) and CeraVe moisturizer in the tub every morning and evening. I continue to use my sunscreen and pimple patches. Over the past week, my acne went from mild to moderate to really bad.
