Apr 15, 2020. #10. If your table saw arbor is 5/8" diameter, there is a pretty broad selection of 7 1/4" blades that could be used--all kinds of grinds and tooth configurations (and prices). You lose 7/8" of cutting depth, but should still be able to go around 2" cut depth.

I scored an earlier version sold by Batson Tool several years ago at an auction for ~$50. I replaced the abrasive blade with a 0.025" jewelers slotting saw blade and I've cut tens of thousands of tubes and solid brass rods since.

I use the same de-burring tool mentioned above and I've never had any problems. The saw is well under powered but handles brass tubing just fine, won't come close to cutting wood at all though.

It gives you straight, clean, and even cuts on tubes and blanks. Only gripe is that you have to turn your blanks if they are 3/4 inch thick or more.

Nov 9, 2008 · Cut off 12" and use some 1.25" dry wall screws. On your table saw, set your blade to 45 degress and cut off a portion of one corner. Set the aluminum angle on that cutoff corner and screw it down. I did drill holes for the screws and counter sunk them so the screw heads sat flush with the aluminum.

I have no problems with using it. As others have said, think before you cut. There arre ways to cut blanks without them flying off the saw.

Jul 26, 2013. #4. Shawn --. I cut tubing with a very fine cutoff wheel or with a fine jewelers blade on a scroll saw. Brass is pretty easy to cut. Aluminum tends to clog the abrasive. Running the abrasive into a bar of soap before cutting aluminum helps a bunch -- but the scroll saw is generally easier.
