I believe that new audience members will only see the action in Rogue One and miss the impact of the story. It is after a fan service film, and most of the story throw backs will be glossed over.

However, with the recent release of Kenobi, I was wondering whether I should watch it before A New Hope, or stick to the movies and watch the original trilogy followed by the sequels, and then go back to enjoy all the in-between content. Nov 4, 2021 · Like, the non-special edition? The original version? Go find a vhs copy that’s just titled ‘Star Wars’ - the ‘New Hope’ bit came later. There’s also a dvd set of all three original films, which includes both special and non-special editions, but they’re priceier and harder to find. Check out a second hand media/bookstore for the vhs.
