5 days ago · Pike County will begin accepting applications for its new spongy moth suppression cost-sharing program starting January 6. The new program was made possible by a $400,000 grant awarded to the county in November through the state Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) Economic Development Initiatives Program.

Pike County wins grant to fight spongy moth infestation
Nov 15, 2024 · Pike County has won a $400,000 grant to help address its severe spongy moth infestation. The grant award was announced in a joint statement by Rep. Jeff Olsommer and Sen. Lisa Baker. The two lawmakers worked with county officials to obtain the funding through the Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED).
Residents seek more pedestrian safeguards after recent tragedy

There are two options the borough is currently weighing: an aerial spray that would require residences and pets to stay indoors for a short period of time, or an “on the ground” method, where only public spaces would be sprayed.
