Frostbite might be one of the few cases where it actually is a good idea, but at the same time, fuck the industry standard of over-relying on Unreal for every video game. And you clearly don't remember when BF4 first came out. It was entirely broken. And again, a bad engine can still be used to make amazing games.

I genuinely don't understand how 2042 is lacking so much the others had when it's using essentially the same engine.

The battlefield series has always been gorgeous. But the way the shooting feels is god awful. And all the reactions to things you do in environments always seems delayed.
